Past 2nd January started a new edition of World Junio Curling Championship where our player Lydia Vallés took part of the National team for 6th international time; 4 times worldchampionship, 2 at europeans.

 

Finnish city of Lohja has a pin at Lydia Vallés´world map. It has been several times that our Harrikada player goes there every year.

International Junior Curling calendar books the National team a place at world championship B category. The competition gives 3 places for world championship A category were already 7 countries have a place. This B category has national teams all around the world so this gives a great sports and cultural experience to young people.

This time, Lydia´s team mates were Patricia Ruiz, María Gómez, Carmen Pérez and Ana Vázquez, with Nicholas van der Shaw as coach.

Group´s opponents were classic Scotland, Poland, Germany, New Zealand, Austria and Finland. Games were intense and scoreboards hard. The victories finally didn´t arrive.

Finally, Scotland won leaving Russia and Japan for A category to be held in Liverpool, New Scotland (CAN).
