Lydia Vallés comes back from Junior World Championship with victory
Our Young player Lydia Vallés has reached a big sport success getting a victory on the Female Junior World Championship, group B, which took place in Lohja (Finland).
Harrikada player gets, with Spanish Junior National female team (together with Alicia Munté, Aroa Amilibia, Patricia Ruiz and María Gómez), the result of the beginning of the season. This is the fourth time of this season 2017/18 that they play together; September, Jaca bonspiel, Prague Junior Cup and this recent World Championship.
The competition started last 3rd January with Spain versus Poland, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Slovenia and Turkey.
The games were adjusted, last minute decisions that made the difference as against Slovenia and Finland. The improvement of the youngest player, together with her close teammates made the difference to the teams with longest tradition on Winter sports.
Even so, the victory took time to come, in the last round, against an unbeaten Turkey.
From Harrikada Curling Club we want to congratulate Lydia, her teammates and coaches (Sergio Vez and Nicholas van der Shaw) for the success in this World Championship. We are waiting her to share the experiences with her clubmates the rest of the season.
